If you are looking into installing your DYMO LabelWriter 4XL thermal printer on a Windows computer, please check our step by step below (for a Mac, please check this forum post).
We have found that the most up-to-date driver on the DYMO website (US site) works best. If you installed the built-in driver, please uninstall it, and download the latest Windows driver from the DYMO website.
As soon as the driver is successfully downloaded, simply launch the .exe file and follow the instructions. If he printer is already plugged in, the driver should automatically apply to the printer. Otherwise, plug in your printer right before the installaton or after it has finished installing.
Once the driver has been successfully installed, go to your Devices and Printers section from the Start Menu (if you do not find it in the Start Menu, like in the below screenshot, simply go to Control Panel first),
Here, locate the printer that you just have installed, right click on it and choose Printing Preferences,
Next, go to the Advanced tab and change the Paper Size settings and the Printer Features so that they match the image below:
- Paper Size: 4″ x 6″
- Print Quality: Barcodes and Graphics
- Print Density: Dark
That’s it. Make sure to click Apply and then OK when you’re finished.
